Encaustic paint is made from beeswax and dates back to ancient Egypt. The melted pigment is highly fragrant and the warmth emitted wonderfully nurturing. It is exciting to be a part of the history of an ancient craft melding it with contemporary techniques and images. The translucent waxiness and the vibrant colors of the medium are very pleasing to me and provide endless joyful discovery.
